Italeri 1/48 Westland Wessex UH.5 Helicopter Kit 2720

he Wessex, easily recognizable by its distinctive line characterized the cockpit placed high, was produced by the British Westland under license. It was based on the American helicopter Sikorsky S-58 ?Choctaw? project with the adoption of a British turbine-powered 1,200 HP Rolls-Royce engine. The Wessex has proved an extraordinary longevity. It was, for nearly three decades, employed by the British Royal Navy to carry out, in its different versions, many operational tasks. The Wessex UH.5, one of the latest version of Westland helicopter, was used during the period of Falklands War in the South Atlantic on 1982, and it was specialized to satisfy the tactical transportation needs of artillery, ammunitions and missile systems. Thanks to its reliability, Wessex UH.5 has also been used for more though duties: the transportation of Royal Marines Commandos during assault and infiltration operations.

Italeri 1/48 Royal Navy Sea Hurricane Fighter Kit 2713

The Sea Hurricane, derived from the famous Hawker fighter, was developed to provide air cover for cargo ships convoys. The first versions were modified to be carried by merchant ships equipped with a catapult for launching the Sea Hurricanes. The ships, however, had no recovery facilities and cranes. The only alternative for the pilots was to find a friendly landing base, if autonomy could allowed it, or ditching. Despite these operating limits, the Sea Hurricane gained the first victories. The Sea Hurricane Mk Ib version has been equipped with arrest hook and the fighter could operated from aircraft carriers, such as HMS Furious and HMS Eagle, and from MAC ships, large cargo vessels with flight deck enable to launch and recover the aircrafts. From February 1942, Sea Hurricane Mk Ic, has been introduced. More than 400 planes has been produced and they were used in Mediterranean and Atlantic areas.

Italeri 1/72 Jaguar GR1 Ground Attack Jet Aircraft Kit 067

Towards the end of the sixties the British and French aircraft industries created an aerodynamically outstanding fighter/bomber, the Jaguar. The ground attack version used by the Royal Air Force has a more sophisticated electronic navigation and bombing system than the French counterpart. Notwithstanding the fact, that the airplane has been in service for more than 20 years, it is still to-day considered to be a valid support aircraft for the Tornado. During the Gulf War the Jaguars have been used against the Iraqui Forces in hundreds of missions without a single loss. Many successful missions ware also carried out during the Balcan conflict.

Italeri 1/72 RAF Sunderland Mk1 Flying Boat Kit 1302

The Short Sunderland was one of the most famous seaplanes of World War II. It?s came into service at the end of 1938 to equip the Royal Air Force squadrons of Coastal Command. The Short industrial skills, famous for the production of transport seaplanes during the '30s, allowed to give birth to a robust and reliable aircraft to meet, in a very good way, the maritime reconnaissance and patrol duties. The 1,065 HP four Bristol Pegasus radial engines and the robust hull structure, guarantees good flexibility even for the long range mission even in tough weather conditions. Sunderland, thanks to the offensive load it could carry, consisting of depth charges, was successfully deployed in anti-submarine operations during the "Battle of the Atlantic" revealing, in fact, a good contrast to the "U-boats" of German Kriegsmarine.

Italeri 1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk 1 WW2 Fighter Kit Metal Wing 2705

The Hawker Hurricane has been the most widely used fighter by the British Royal Air Force at the beginning of World War II. The Hurricane was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin 12-cylinders, liquid-cooled, with more than 1,000 HP that could lead to a speed above 500 km/h. The eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns, which equipped it , guaranteed a good firepower. Although it was slower and more antiquated, for aerodynamic design, then the famous "colleague" with whom it shared the operational engagement during the Battle of Britain, however, was more robust, cheaper and easier to maintain and repair.   He has contributed significantly to the victory of the RAF during the Battle of Britain, but during the war, it has gradually given the role of front-line fighter to the more modern Spitfire.

Italeri 1/72 B-17 Fortress Mk1 RAF WW2 Plastic Kit 1304

The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is perhaps the most renowned four-engine heavy bomber aircraft of the 2nd World War. In 1934 the United States Army Air Corps tendered a proposal to replace the old Martin B-10, which had now become outdated. The B-17 first saw combat with the British Royal Air Force.during the second World War. The RAF, in fact, entered into war with a limited number of heavy bombers, equipping its units with the first B-17Cs obtained from the United States, which were renamed B-17 Mk.I. The first operational missions against strategic targets in Germany, such as the industrial city of Wilhemshaven or the busy port of Brest, began in July 1941. The B-17 Mk.I possessed 4 powerful Wright R-1820-65 turbo-charged radial engines and was capable of carrying a large bombload, even on longer-range missions. From an industrial point of view, the B-17 is considered to be the first large aircraft to be produced on a large scale, utilizing the most advanced mass production techniques.

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk VII has been developed to provide to British Royal Air Force an effective high altitude fighter.  The previous Mk VI version was not considered suitable to contrast the threat from high altitude enemy bombers . The Spitfire Mk VII, especially in the configuration with the powerful and reliable Merlin 71 engine, could reach the service ceiling of 45,100 feet (13,700 m.)  and guarantee  superb high altitude performance much better than the previous  versions. The Spitfire Mk VII was characterized by a pressurized cabin, the four-bladed propeller, a longer fuselage and the extended and pointed wing tips Remained in production from August 1942 until  early 1944 andmore than 140 aircrafts were produced in that time.

Italeri 1/48 RAF Hawker Typhoon Mk1b D-Day Kit 2734

The Hawker Typhoon was the most famous British single-seat fighter-bomber used by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Its robust structure and the outstanding aerodynamic performance at low altitude made it ideal to perform ground attack and close support duties. The main armament, in order to enhance the role of fighter-bomber, was mainly formed by four 20 mm Hispano cannons installed in the wings. Thanks to the reliable Napier Sabre 24 pistons engine (able to provide more than 2,200 hp), the Typhoon is able to reach a top speed of 660 Km / h and to carry 900 kg of rockets and bombs. It was widely used during the 1944 for the preliminary operations before the ?D-Day?, through raids against communication and transport lines, and after the Allied Normandy landing to support the British ground forces and to attack enemy targets.

Revell 1/25 1969 Camaro Z28 RS 07081

The Camaro Z/28 RS was the General Motors answer to the successful Ford Mustang. An economical car that could also be afforded by young people, equipped with a hefty V8 engine, it was what the market wanted. The aim was also for the Camaro to take part in SCCA races without needing much modification - motor racing for everyone. So at the outset 5 litre V8 engines were built with a capacity of 290 hp. Over the years this was hotted up until in 1969 it was normally 430 hp with a 7 litre V8, which could even delivery up to 500 hp. As the Camaro could reach 100 km/h in 6 seconds, it only took 14.6 seconds to reach the top speed of just over 200 km/h. With so much power they could take part in all races straight away.

These vehicles required a lot of maintenance and were prone to tracks breaking. The on road speed wasn?t very good but it off-road abilities made up for it.

Amphibious and all-wheel drive made the Type 166 a vehicle for mud, snow, sand or water. The rear-mounted three-blade propeller was lowered and self-engaged to linkage from the engine. The Type 166 was the most produced amphibious vehicle in history.

Hobby Master 1/72 Sd. Kfz. 7 German 8 Ton HG5002

The concept for the Sd.Kfz. 7 dates back to 1934 when the need for this type of vehicle was realized. It wasn?t until 1938 before the first vehicle actually left the factory. The vehicle had theater-type bench seats capable of carrying up to 12 men. There was stowage room at the rear for ammunition for the large guns it usually towed. These vehicles required a lot of maintenance and were prone to tracks breaking. The on road speed wasn?t very good but it off-road abilities made up for it.
