First appearing in the 1960's as the U.S. Navy's first all-weather carrier-based fighter aircraft was the Grumman A-6 Intruder. The Intruder served at both Vietnam and Gulf wars and was retired in 1997. This is a 1/72 scale plastic assembly model of the 1970 variant, the A-6E, which came with the new state of the art electronics of that era. You can enjoy the unique aspects of the A-6E, including the 2-man cockpit as well as the large rounded nose section which housed a radar system inside. In addition, you can choose to assemble the model with its wings folded up as seen on aircraft carriers. The canopy and ladder can also be assembled in either open or closed positions.
