The Gloucester Co-Operative coal yard was located within the Midland Railways' yard. Provided with direct rail services from the Midlands, Bristol, Somerset and Forest of Dean, a choice of coals could be obtained from hundreds of collieries. The society was a major supplier of coal in Gloucester, with 20,700 tons being handled in 1910, during which year the society ordered at least 18 new wagons, bringing the fleet to 42. The Gloucester RCW photographer captured the companys' shunting engine with Gloucester Co-Operative numbers 34-42 fresh from the paint shop.
The last batches of wagons purchased brought Co-Operative Societys' fleet to a total 52 wagons which it appears to have passed into the wagon pooling arrangements were enacted for WW2.

Features sprung buffers, 3-link couplings, metal wheels, opening side doors.
A weathered version 7F-071-025W will also e available and can be obtained on request.

Antics commissioned OO gauge model of this wagon shown for illustration purposes until a photograoh of the O gauge model is made available by Dapol.
