Bachmann have made an excellent job of the Ivatt class 2MT, capturing the look of these small 2-6-0s very well.Despite the diminutive size the motor has been fitted within the locomotive, with a DCC socket conveniently situated in the tender. A range of optional parts are supplied, including a shorter tender drawbar for use with larger radius curves. Era 4.
Designed as modern branchline engines these useful locomotives spread across the British Railways network replacing old and obsolete engines. The urgent need for modern locomotives resulted in the LMS design being multiplied by BR. The later BR standard equivalent (78xxx series) was almost identical.
