Bachmann 21-Pin DCC Decoder with Back EMF and 3 Function Outputs (36-554)
Designed for use with the 21-pin connectors fitted to many of the most recent models this three function decoder offers several advanced features including configurable back EMF high-frequency pulse width motor speed control. A shunting speed function control is provided, allowing finer control for slow speed operations.
Decoder measures 24mm long, 15mm wide with socket at one end.
The back EMF control used on this decoder will give superb results at slow speed when correctly set. The default CV values are suitable for many motors, however there may be instability in motor performance when the back EMF control is not matched to the requirements of the motor. If this is found to be the case CVs 54 to 55 should be adjusted to alter the back EMF settings to suit the motor. In case of difficulty contact Bachmann Europe for more advice.
Motor output 700mA with 31.25KHz pulse frequency for smooth and quiet slow speed running. Function outputs 180mA each, 350mA max. total Function button controlled shunting speed, halves the maximum speed when enabled.

Please note that this decoder has been designed for the European market where multi-locomotive formations are uncommon and does not support CV 19 consisting. If you wish to use this function (eg. To operate pairs of class 20 locomotives) it is supported by Bachmanns’ 36-552 decoder and many other decoders. | |
