Bachmann OO 32-034A BR 20141 Class 20 Bo-Bo BR Green Full Yellow Ends TOPS Number Weathered
Bachmanns' excellent model of the class 20 model is powered by a centrally mounted motor driving all four axles. The detailed bodyshell allows several variations in fittings to be reproduced, reflecting the changes made during the extended building period and now over 50 years of service.
Finished as 20141 as running in early 1980 still in BR green livery.
DCC Ready 21 pin decoder required for DCC operation.
Being very reliable locomotives and generally in goods service away from the public eye class 20s were repainted quite slowly. 20141 was among the last of the class to receive the BR blue livery, still carrying green livery with grey roof when photographed in April 1980. The replacement bodyside door had arrived from stores already painted blue!
So we've pout this loco in the blue diesels section as well, the last of the green era lasting until the first runs of the APT in the new InterCity stripes livery!
