New version of the Cravens 105 units.
Constructed by Sheffield train builders Cravens in response to BR orders for diesel multiple units the class 105 units had a distinctive 2-window front end.
Sets were built as 2-car units with one driving motor car and one driving trailer car and 3-car units, with two driving motor cars, one with a guards' van, flanking a trailer car. The central trailer cars were later dispensed with, converting the 3-car sets into 2-car sets with both cars powered. These 'power twin' sets offered a better power-to-weight ratio than the standard sets, very useful on routes with difficult gradients.Although the Cravens design was not perpetuated the company hadbuilt a quality product and the units ran into the 1980s, outlasting many other builders' trains.
This model is one of the power-twin sets painted in the BR plain blue livery with full yellow ends, as seen through the1970s and 80s.

DCC Ready. Requires 1 8-pin and 1 6-pin decoder for DCC operation in order to control the directional lighting on both cars.
