Some bodyshells come pre-painted, whilst others are supplied clear, enabling peoples artistic talent to take over and customize the paintwork and decals to their own design. For those wishing to mask their own design may we suggest a good quality masking tape such as Tamiya Masking Tape.
To prepare a bodyshell before painting, clean it thouroughly with warm soapy water followed by a good rinse and then allow it to dry completely. Clear polycarbonate bodyshells are designed to be painted on the inside giving a high gloss finish, certain finishes will require you to back them up with a further colour to enhance the effect. Always spray in a well ventilated warm area, holding the can about 12 inches from the body with thin sweeping coats, allowingto dry between coats, (usually dries in about 15 -20 minutes). Some bodyshells come with a clear protective film on the outside to prevent overspray, this will need to be removed later before applying any decals.
Finally cut the body out using a good quality pair of curved scissors , whilst to make the body post holes use a tapered reamer or drill.
The Royal Mail will not deliver pressurised canisters so spray paints are sent by courier service and a higher postage charges apply.
Please note that these aerosol spray canisters cannot be shipped to destinations outside of the United Kingdom.

Tamiya PS7 Orange Polycarbonate Spray Paint 100ml (PS-7)
Tamiya PS Sprays have been especially developed to be used on transparent lexan/polycarbonate R/C body shells, the flexibility of PS Sprays allows the polycarbonate to flex without the paint cracking or scratching.
Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing a model.
These sprays are generally sprayed on the inside of a body shell so the colour stays intact during impacts, keeping the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing apply another coat, small details should be brush painted beforehand using Tamiya bottle paints for polycarbonate. These paints are impervious to oil and fuels, so they can be safely used on gas-powered R/C bodies. Never use these paints on plastic models.
For best results when painting a car body with multiple colours, spray dark colours first and light colours last. Metallic colours should be backed up with a silver final coat, whilst translucent colours can be backed up with like colours or metallics to give different effects. Experiment with scraps of Lexan to see what will work best for your project.
