The 43 class was built by the German loco makers Henschel und Schwartzkopff in 1927 and '28. The locomotive had a two-cylinder engine giving it a capacity of 1880 hp and a top speed of 70 km/h. Coupled to a type 2-2-T32 tender it could carry 10 tons of coal and 32 m3 of water. The length over buffers was 22,615 mm.The last locomotives were retired from service in 1967. Loco 43 001 is owned by the Dresden Transport Museum
