Hornby OO R8711 Cement Hopper From Skaledale Range
A superb model of the simple overhead cement hopper. These hoppers were seen all over Britain in the 1950s and 60s. These hoppers were used to store cement delivered by rail for onward distribution by road delivery vehicles. Normally the hopper would be arranged such that a road tanker could drive through beneath the hopper, pausing for the cement to be loaded by gravity.
