Bachmann Branchline 37-087 OO Gauge GWR 7 Plank End Door Open Coal Wagon
An excellent model of the classic 7-plank open coal wagon with end door for rapid unloading painted in the GWR's dark goods grey livery. These wagons were popular with colliery companies as the end doors allowed rapid discharge into ships.
The GWR used iron and steel underframes for their own wagons from around 1880, however this wooden framed wagon carries a 0 prefixed number, indicating it isn't a GWR owned wagon. The three Gloucester RCW plates along the solebar indicate this is a wagon from the Gloucester wagon companys' lease fleet on hire to the GWR, possibly pending the completion of an order from the Great Western.
