The Bay Express, which commenced service in March 2003, was introduced to provide a frequent high quality, highly visible and easily identifiable service linking Cardiff City Centre to the major business and residental developments in Cardiff Bay. The distinctive livery was designed by Cardiff Council to capture the essence of living in, working in, or visiting Cardiff Bay. The Bay Xpress has been operated successfully by Bebb Travel, a highly respected local bus operator on behalf of Cardiff Council and the Welsh Assembly Government, who jointly fund the service.
