Corgi 1/76 Plaxton Centenary Set (OM49901)
This four piece set commenorates 100 years of Plaxton who started trading in Scarbourgh
in 1907, initially they started in the construction trade but soon after this they became
heavily invoved in vehicle coachbuilding. By 1970 Plaxton was the number one coach builder
in the UK, a position the company has sustained ever since.
The four buses in this centenary set comprise of a Plaxton Excalibur? owned by? 'Moffat & Williamson Ltd' of Newport on Tay, a Plaxton Panorama 'Ulsterbus' from Belfast, a Plaxton Panther 'WA Shearings? Grand Tourer' from the Wigan based company and a Plaxton Beaver 'Pulman & Sons Coaches Ltd' from the Cotswold based village of Bourton-on-the-Water, Glos.
