Why keep paying for fresh batteries, when a cheaper solution is available. Most battery operated devices can be powered by rechargeable batteries. Many will have their own charging sockets which enable rechargeable batteries to be topped up in situ, whilst others will require a seperate charge system. NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries offer higher capacity than the well-known Ni-Cd cells and overcome the 'memory' effect. Part-discharged NiMh cells can be charged straight away without loss of capacity or life. The price of rechargables is higher but, in regular heavy duty applications is well worth it.
Sanyo Eneloop Rapid Charger & 2 AA's (25007)
The MDR02 is designed to be used during travel, when small size and a
wide A/C-voltage range are important. Line voltages from 100V to 240V can be used to
recharge your eneloop. To save on weight and size it's capability is limited to two
batteries only, however as time is often short while travelling the speed of charging has
been increased. Two batteries can be charged in less than four hours. The charger comes
with a detachable A/C-power cable with either a Euro-plug or UK-plug. The MDR02 can charge
either one or two batteries of size AA or AAA at once.
