Why keep paying for fresh batteries, when a cheaper solution is available. Most battery operated devices can be powered by rechargeable batteries. Many will have their own charging sockets which enable rechargeable batteries to be topped up in situ, whilst others will require a seperate charge system. NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable batteries offer higher capacity than the well-known Ni-Cd cells and overcome the 'memory' effect. Part-discharged NiMh cells can be charged straight away without loss of capacity or life. The price of rechargables is higher but, in regular heavy duty applications is well worth it.
