The new frontal armour is assembled from photo-etched and slide-moulded parts for greater details. Both front and rear armour can be assembled in combat or transport mode. Slide-moulded parts provide the superb transmission. The newly designed batteries case with interior detail make this model just great. The suspension has been newly tooled along with the Idler gear and OVM make an improvement on the chassis. The Drivers area has been upgraded with a visor that can be assembled open or closed, a seat and controls have intricate detail, as does the instrument panel. The 2cm Gun is protected by a new gun shield and can be elevated in different positions. Slide moulded one piece gun barrel has a hollow muzzle opening of which there is a choice of three. The Gun sight and cradle are well detailed with even weld seams presented. There is a spare barrel case w/spare barrel moulded inside and with ammo clip and ammo boxes this make for excellent detail. You can have the Optional spent shell case frame with photo-etched net and pre-formed photo-etched spent shell case. The trailer can be portrayed in transport or at rest mode and has well defined details. This is finished off with Cartograf decals. Even at the outbreak of the Second World War, the German Pz.Kpfw. I was seriously outdated and outclassed. However, when an order was issued in 1941 for the production of a tracked anti-aircraft vehicle with armor protection, some of the small and elderly Panzer I chassis at last found a new outlet. A 2cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun was duly mounted on a Pz.Kpfw. I Ausf.A hull, and the Flakpanzer I was born! A total of 24 of these conversions were manufactured, and allocated to Fla.Bataillon 614 (mot.), a unit raised in 1941. | |
