Shunters benefit from extra weight and low gearing as well. 2004 marked the 15 years of Bachmanns' British range and the locos have steadily improved, particularly with the introduction of Blue Riband range, and combine realism and detail with scale speed and train pulling performance. This locomotive is supplied with a factory installed DCC decoder, ready for service on DCC or conventional DC controlled layouts.
Bachmann have produced an excellent model of the latest low-emission engine version of the class 66 locomotives. There are several external detail differences between these locomotives and the original design, including an extra bodyside door and revised underframe equipment.
The Bachmann model retained the powerful motor with drive to all six axles. The addition of the DCC decoder allows DCC control of the lighting, automatically switching the white amnd red lights when a direction change is selected.
66 412 carries the standard DRS compass logo livery.
DCC decoder equiped locomotives will work with many conventional DC control systems. These locomotives must not be used with DC feedback controllers or high-frequency electrinc accessories such as electronic track cleaning units. | |
