One of the best large scale models of the Routemaster Open Top - its approx 35cm long, Presented with the registration number VLT94, realistic detail, detailed engine, decorated seats,authentic ticket boxes, poseable wheels, detailed chassis, it is an excellent limited edition model with certificate. A special item for the Routemaster enthusiast.
Although London Transport had started sightseeing tours in 1951, thirty years later it had lost over half of the market to independent operators. In 1986, the decision was taken to directly target that market by introducing 50 Routemasters under the name of The Original London Transport Sightseeing Tour. The new fleet comprised of the last 11 RCL`s, 19 standard RM`s and 20 newly-converted open top RM`s, .
RM94 was one of the first open top RM`s to enter service on March 22nd 1986 - as part of the original fleet that had been converted at Aldenham works.
