Blazefield took over the East Lancashire operation of Stagecoach in 2001, immediately reintoducing the local identity of Burnley and Pendle. The X43 is a long established route linking Manchester with Burnley, Colne and Neson. Blazefield introduced a fleet of high quality twin deck vehicles in 2005, which feature leather seats throughout. At the same time the route was given a new identity under the Witch Way brand. Each vehicle is named after the so called Pendle Witches who were convicted of witchcraft in the 17th century.
