These top quality, ready to run brass loco's are absolutely excellent models for the price - at which some will never be repeated because of exchange rate problems.
Bachmann O Brassworks LMS Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 Tender BR Green Unlined Livery (BW077) These locomotives were built specifically for branchline operations, where the LMS still operated many locomotives dating from the Victorian era. The 2MT was a modern, often more powerful replacement for the worn out machines, with greatly improved economy in coal and water from the incorporation of an extra 50 years of locomotive technology. The crews liked them to, as the tenders came equiped with back cabs, providing the comfort of a tank engine with the range offered by the tenders' larger water capacity.
2MTs worked on almost all regions of British Railways and, due to their small size, these locos have always been popular with modellers. A model layout sized 2MT with just a couple of wagons and a brake van would be a perfectly prototypical branch goods train.
