Corgi 1/43 Austin A35 Van Post Office Telephones (VA01709)
A number of these vehicles were trialled by the GPO in both the telephone and postal
fleets in 1962. This Austin A35 van operated within the Portsmouth area in the 1960's.
The Austin A35 was based on the A30 but with a larger 948cc version of the A-Series engine. Production continued until 1968 and in 1962 it was fitted with a 1098cc engine, but oddly the last two years of its production saw it fitted with a 848cc version, lowering its performance considerably.
