All 250 RS3100s were built at Halewood in November 1973 and were right-hand drive. The UK market received 200 examples and the Australian market 50.

The RS3100 modelled here is owned by Wiltshire-based Len Peirce who is the Capri Registrar of the RS Owners Club. He purchased the car in 1998 after it had been off the road for seven years and although it needed restoring, the body-shell had survived well consequently this rare homologation-special retains its original sills and front inner wings. Len did, however, have to fit a replacement wheel-arch and A-post, rebuild the engine, and carry out a bare metal re-spray. It was originally purchased on the April 19th 1974 from Gowrings of Reading by local man Philip Hales who has been reunited with the car after seeing it in a magazine article and contacting Len.
