The Capri Ghia modelled was sold new on 30th March 1979 by Invicta
Motors of Canterbury, Kent, to a customer in nearby Herne Bay. The
luxurious Ghia model came with Ford’s own 3-speed automatic gearbox,
power-assisted steering, alloy wheels, sunroof, wing-mounted Ghia crest,
rear wash-wipe and Verona fabric trim, which on this example was in
‘chocolate’, all fitted as standard. The first owner ticked only one
option, metallic paint resulting a total cost of £5,920. Unusually, he
neglected to choose the passenger-door mirror option but one has since
been added for safety reasons.
