Corgi 1/43 MGB Open Top Model Leeds City Police (VA10706)
MG sports cars were popular with the police for many years as they were agile and
comparatively fast. However, the amount of equipment that modern day officers carry means
that this type of vehicle lost favour during the 1970s. The MGB roadster, modelled here,
was used by the Leeds City Police during the early 1960s and was driven by PC Joseph K.
Lee, BEM (British Empire Medal). Supplied in Iris Blue, a standard MG colour, with a dark
blue hood, the car featured a Winkworth bell hidden behind the grille where the oil cooler
was sited on later MGBs.
