The Police Service of Northen Ireland has a long traditionof using Land Rovers to patrol
the streets.In the past many of the vehicles were armoured, but as the peace process has
moved forward the need for armoured vehicles has subsided. Standard issue Land Rovers, such
as the example modelled are now used to conduct patrols and gain access to rural areas.
