The Lotus Cortina MKll had quite a short career as a rally car, for in historical terms it
was sandwiched between the successful MKl Lotus Cortina and the now legendary Mkl Escort.
The Ford team knew the Escort was coming through for most of the 1967 season and therfore
did not develop the MKll as much as they might have done. The example modelled was used by
Ford works driver Ove Andersson to win the 'Gulf London' UK based forestry marathon Rally
