Vanguard 1/76 Lotus Cortina MkII Alan Mann Racing (VA04110)
Lotus Cortinas should be white with a green stripe shouldn't they? Unless they are red with a gold stripe that is, for that is the colour scheme favoured by legendary team manager Alan Mann. He had a very close relationship with Ford and ran a number of Ford racing cars in his famous livery. Lotus Cortina CTC 24E was built in 1968 as a stopgap because the new Escort Twin Cam could not be homologated in time. With a 205 BHP Cosworth-Ford FVA engine and every spare ounce taken from the car it was a very rapid machine and served F1 driver Frank Gardener well at the beginning of the season.
