The last built of the general service air braked open wagons, the steel sided OCA open wagons were strong and robust vehicles, suitable for a wide range of loads.

This model is painted in the engineers grey and yellow Dutch livery scheme. Many OCA wagons carried this livery, being transferred to the engineering fleet following a downturn in rail freight business. This allowed older wagons to be eliminated from the wagon fleet, but many of these wagons have since returned to revenue traffic use with EWS, often without repainting.

A large number of bogie bolster wagons built in the 1950s were rebuilt in the 1980s to carry the increasing rolled steel traffic. The load capacity was uprated and the rebuilt wagons were equiped with modern bogies and air brakes, making them suitable for operation at higher speeds.

This wagon is painted in the black and orange livery of pre-privatisation rail freight company Loadhaul.

The HEA design hopper was constructed to replace the life expired 1950s HTV design on domestic coal deliveries with a new vehicle, capable to travelling safely at higher speeds.

The steady closure of domestic coal concentration depots in the 1990s saw the HEA hoppers redeployed on coal delivery to small consumers (ie. smaller than power stations!) and put to use as barrier wagons. An empty HEA hopper would often be seen on each end of an oil train for example.

A complete train of four individually numbered, detailed and weathered TTA oil tank wagons. This set of four wagons formed a complete locomotive fuel oil train supplying the depots in Cornwall.

This set of wagons is an ideal prototype short fuel train which can be accomodated on any N gauge layout, delivering fuel to a depot or simply passing through on its' way to a distant destination.

A superb model of the modern 102-tonne bogie coal hoppers used by EWS. The model is accurately detailed with panelling, hoppers and operating mechanism all well represented.

Frequently hauled by the companys class 66 locomotives these wagons normally run in block trains hauling coal from mines or ports to power stations. In model form a train of just a few of these large wagons is quite effective.

A new version of the superb Graham Farish 102-tonne bogie coal hopper wagon model. These wagons have generally replaced the HAA hoppers of the 1960s in power station coal service. This new EWS version carries a different number, ideal for expanding your coal train.

It wasn't until the introduction of the TOPS (Total Operations Processing System) computer system by BR in the early 70's that the wagon was recoded as HAA.
