27Mhz & 40Mhz frequency radio sets are the UK standard for Radio Controlled model Cars and model Boats.

These radios are all digital proportional, allowing for precise positioning of servos and speed controllers. Some come with computerised functions with model memories, allowing use of one transmitter with many models, and for easy setting up. The majority of these sets are supplied on exchangeable frequencies, allowing you to change the frequency by simple plug in "Crystals", where some of the higher end sets have Synthesised transmitters, allowing for scanning for the corresponding receiver.

With the great success of the Megatech 3PM set, the next step forward from Futaba was to make a synthesised version of the transmitter, allowing virtually instantaneous channel changes, without the need to carry a vast range of transmitter crystals. Channel numbers are changed in the transmitter programme, with the frequency information being displayed on the LCD display screen at all times. All of the other 3PM features are included in this new set, which is perfect for the ambitious club or national driver in today's ultra competitive racing climate.
