Coastlines 1/1250 CL-SA15R Friedrich der Grosse, Scapa Flow 1937
A 1/1250 scale resin model of the former German battleship, Friedrich der Grosse, modelled at the moment of salvage in Scapa Flow in 1937 by Metal Industries.
Friedrich der Grosse had been scuttled at the end of the Great War in 1919 and was refloated using compressed air, a technique developed by Ernest Cox in the 1920s. The model shows theĀ inverted ship at the moment of breaking the surface with the expanding air leaking from the hull.
