Towards the end of the 18th century, the "Jeune Ecole" in France suggested that battleships were obsolete and the Government allowed the Navy only Cruisers and Torpedo & Gunboats. With a break of experience and expertise the Battleships which were built subsequently were a series of specimen ships; one offs of which Henri IV was one. | |
