There have been five lighthouses on the Eddystone Reef. Smeaton's innovative design was the fourth. When it was replaced in 1888, this tower was re-erected on Plymouth Hoe, where it stands to this day!
The model shows the lighthouse shortly before it was replaced by the present structure.
