The three Zenta class small cruisers were actively used to support Destroyer operations in the Adriatic at the start of WW1. Zenta was sunk after being brought under fire by British battleships and thereafter the other two were given less aduous duties. Aspern became an accommodation ship for the rest of WW1 and was scrapped after the end of the war.
