A 1/1250 scale metal model of the ship that was building for Turkey at Armstrong's Elswick Works and was taken over by the Royal Navy after the outbreak of WW1. At Armstrongs, she was known as the big battleship on account of her long hull required to accommodate the 14 x12" guns of her main armament. This new "N" model shows the ship as in 1917 but she was re-modelled several times to fit the Royal Navy requirements.

A 1/1250 scale metal model of HMS Argyll, representing her class of armoured cruisers as built. The model was updated and detailed in 2011, just in time for the 200th anniversary of the Bell Rock lighthouse. It was the Bell Rock (or Inchcape) rock that was Argyll's nemesis in 1915 during a heavy storm. Argyll ran hard aground on the rock facing the lighthouse and 150ft of the hull was ripped open. The ship was abanndoned the following morning and the wreck was destroyed immediately afterwards to disguise her loss. A model of the Bell Rock lighthouse  in 1/1250 scale is available from Antics.

Already under construction by the start of the war, at the Swan Hunter shipyard, Comus was launched in December 1914 and completed in May the following year. On 16th February 1916, Comus arrived on the scene of the battle between HMS Alcantara and the German raider Greif. Both ships were sinking and the Comus, Alcantera's sister ship Andes and the destroyer HMS Munster picked up survivors.
A member of the C class of light cruisers, Comus took part in the Battle of Jutland.

Navis WW1 models did not have quite the standard of detailing found on the newer Neptun range. However, models designated with an N are of later production and finer. Nonetheless the range is the best of its type!
