Hornby Railroad range 00 Gauge BR standard class 8 4-6-2 pacific locomotive 71000 Duke of Gloucester.

This is an unboxed model split from Gloucester City Pullman Train Set. Supplied in polystyrene holder with basic detail pack. No retail packaging.

The Railroad range locomotives feature the same drive mechanisms and bodyshells as the collectors versions and represent and excellent base for custom and super-detailing projects to recreate the 'Duke' at a specific date.

DCC Ready. 8-pin decoder required for DCC operation.

Following whithdrawal 71000 was sent to the South Wales scrapyard of Woodham brothers, where a steady flow of goods wagons for scrapping saw the steam locomotives stored. Dubbed 'Project Impossible' due to the removal of two of the locomotives cylinders, one of which was used as a museum display showing the Caprotti valve gear, new cylinders were cast and 71000 has returned to operation on the mainline.

Add the DCC Ready OO gauge locomotive of choice to the basket, then add a decoder installation to the order, either select a decoder or request us to supply a suitable decoder (use the other instructions box of the checkout screen).We will deliver the DCC locomotive, which must be supplied by Antics, with a plug equipped decoder fitted and tested.
