Hornbys' Railroad range contains many of the robust and reliable Hornby trains, ideal for young railway enthusiasts. Traditional Hornby play value at a reasonable price.

Many of the large locomotives have similar specifications to the latest Hornby engines, but are not fitted with the many fine details found on the collectors models. Ideal for handling by young modellers and as a starting point for super-detailing projects.

Hornby OO BR Class 31 256 A1A A1A Diesel Loco Model Railroad (R3067)


The Hornby Railroad range features models with basic detailing only, designed for younger model railway enthusiasts. Often the bodyshells are taken from recent production tooling, so the moulded detail is good, but the fine details of collectors' models are not fitted.

This model of the BR class 31 diesel locomotive is produced from the former Lima tooling, a model which features accurate body shape and detailing, with finely moulded grilles. The motor drive powering one of the bogies has been upgraded and now incorporates a DCC decoder socket.

DCC Ready. 8 pin decoder required for DCC operation.
