A recent and exciting development in British steam locomotive history was the creation of a completely new 4-6-2 steam locomotive, specially built for hauling rail tours.
The Tornado project took many years of work to create an entirely new Peppercorn Class A1 locomotive, no original example of which survived. Now you can take home a detailed N gauge model of this superb locomotive. An excellent souvenir of a steam-hauled trip or of bringing the magic of steam to a modern image layout, mixing with the the brightly coloured trains of current operating companies.
60163 Tornado has run in several different liveries. This model carries the BR experimental express blue turnout that was carried by several of the A1 class when new and which 60163 carried during 2012.
