Graham Farish N 374-902A BR Mk I TPO Blue & Grey
The Royal Mail have made use of the railways for the carriage of mails since the creation of the network in the 1840s/50s. Sorting of mail on the move speeded up deliveries over long distances, allowing for the next day first class service to be maintained.
This model is of the BR Mk.1 TPO van, built to the new standard BR coach design in the 1950s, painted in the BR corporate era livery of blue and grey, seen from the mid 1960s until the beginning of the privatisation process in the early 1990s.
