Graham Farish 373-362 BR Mk1 Horse Box Southern Region Green N
A model of the British Railways Mk.1 horse box van.
These vans were designed to match the new Mk.1 passenger coaches and were painted in the matching livery as horse boxes were often attached to passenger trains. The Southern favoured painmting their coaching stock in green livery, matching the EMU trains, so the horse boxes were painted green as well. The horse boxes would travel widely however, so a green vehicle might be seen alongside the maroon ones at a race meet anywhere in the country.
