A coach with a driver's compartment so that the locomotive did not need to be uncoupled to reverse the train speeded up the working of lightly patronised branchlines. Partnered with the Dapol 14xx tank locomotives this finely detailed autocoach forms a classic Great Western branch train in the BR era.
Model is in the early BR 'crimson and cream' livery, before orders were issued that these coaches should be painted plain maroon.
