After the defeat in the war with France of 1806/07, the Prussian infantry was reorganised and issued with new uniforms modelled on the Russian style whilst maintaining the traditional blue colour. A regiment of the regular Prussian infantry consisted of two musketeer batallions and one fusilier batallion (each divided into four companies), plus two grenadier companies
