The ESU LokSound 4.0 is latest in a line of developments in sound decoders. Featuring 32Mb of flash memory which can accomodate up to 274 seconds of sound clips, from which 8 sounds can be played simultaneously. The decoder incorporates an amplifier with output for a 4-ohm speaker, a 23mm speaker is supplied with the decoder.
If the micro decoder is being fitted to a OO model please check the motor current draw under load on DC power before starting conversion.

Where a decoder is being fitted to a locomotive without a pre-installed socket the Bachmann part 36-562 6-pin socket and wiring harness can be used to avoid needing to solder wires connected to the decoder itself.
