Railmatch BR Crimson 1949-1957 18ml Acrylic Paint 2311

BR crimson paint colour as used initially on passenger coaches and luggage vans.

Agreed in 1949, British Railways coach livery until 1957 was crimson and cream (2312) for mainline corridor coaches and all crimson for suburban stock. This shade is also known as carmine, as it wasn't very close to many peoples' concept of crimson!

18ml pot of water based acrylic paint.

Coach painting intervals were dependent on the rate of deterioration of the paint. Crimson and cream did not weather well, but a life of 5-7 years might be anticipated, so crimson and cream liveried coaches could still be seen towards the end of the maroon era.
