Trumpeter 1/32 USAF F105D Thunderchief (02201)
Staggeringly good model kit, from Trumpeter, of the single seat bomber used extensively
in Vietnam. The kit has 514 parts and the finished model scales out at 613mm long with a
wingspan of 333mm. Decal options are `The Polish Glider' of Maj. Donald Kutyna or `Alices
Joy' which was the aircraft of Colonel Jack Broughton.
Conceived as a high speed bomber to replace the F-84F the Thunderchief was to go to war in Vietnam. A typical mission load for the all weather aircraft was two 450 gallon drop tanks and either six 750lb bombs or 5 1000lb'ers - all carried externally. A total of 610 F-105D's were built and finally left USAF service on the 12th July 1980.
