Staggeringly good model kit, from Trumpeter, of the single seat bomber used extensively in Vietnam. The kit has 514 parts and the finished model scales out at 613mm long with a wingspan of 333mm. Decal options are `The Polish Glider' of Maj. Donald Kutyna or `Alices Joy' which was the aircraft of Colonel Jack Broughton.

Conceived as a high speed bomber to replace the F-84F the Thunderchief was to go to war in Vietnam. A typical mission load for the all weather aircraft was two 450 gallon drop tanks and either six 750lb bombs or 5 1000lb'ers - all carried externally. A total of 610 F-105D's were built and finally left USAF service on the 12th July 1980. | |
