Corgi 1/76 Scammel Contractor Low Loader Sunters Bros (DG198014)
Sunter Brothers go back to the early part of the century when four brothers founded the business. Tom Fire, one of the brothers drove trucks during the Great War and from this recognised that there was money to be made in transportation of goods. By the 1930s the brothers were running motor lorries of their own, plying their trade as hauliers of hay, livestock feeds and coal.
By 1957 Tom Fire had secured a contract with Bradwell Boilers which gave them their famous name in the heavy haulage industry. As well as this, Sunter Brothers were also used to transport large construction vehicles making this model an ideal companion to the RB19 and Coles Crane.

Corgi 1/76 Ruston Bucyrus 19 Face Shovel Green circa 1937 (DG225000)
Ruston Bucyrus Limited was established in 1930. The company was formed by the amalgamation of Ruston and Hornsby Ltd with Bucyrus Erie Company from Ohio who were the principle US manufacturer of excavation machinery of the time. Ruston and Hornsby dated back to 1857 with a history of manufacturing diesel locomotives and steam shovels. The merger with Bucyrus Erie meant Ruston had the finance and specialised knowledge to develop new excavators, whilst giving their American partners a platform in the European markets. The RB19s were produced from 1937 until 1967, the RB Face Shovel would have been used across various industries including; construction, mining, quarrying as well as within the British Railways systems. The key purpose of the Face Shovel was for the movement of loose aggregates and was used for tasks including; loading ballast onto trucks, coal into wagons or assisting in the actual preparation of building of railways.

Corgi 1/76 Coles Argus 6 Ton Crane Yellow (DG226000)
Coles Cranes were founded in 1879 by Henry James Coles of whom had originally started out as a sawmill machine manufacturer. At this time, Britain was in the height of an industrial revolution, which meant there was a requirement for machinery that could contribute to the building of Britain s infrastructure.
Early Coles Cranes were powered by steam and were used predominately on the railways to support the growth of the rail network. By the 1930s Coles were manufacturing Deck Cranes , these were specifically designed to lift goods and move them short distances and were ideal for working in yards or on construction sites. The 6 Ton Argus Crane was first manufactured in 1954 and Argus was the strongest of all the Coles cantilever cranes. Over 50 years on they can still be found in working order in boat yards and on preserved railways.
