Coastlines 1/1250 R34 an R33-class RNAS airship, 1919 CL-AS02

A 1/1250 scale model of the R33 class, the longest serving rigid airships built in Britain.
R33 was built by Vickers and R34 by Beardmores for the RNAS.
R34 was the first to complete just before the 1918 armistice and made the first east to west aerial crossing of the North Atlantic in 1919 just weeks after Alcock & Brown had made their west to east flight. The R34 succesfully returned to the UK a few days later. Before the transatlantic crossings, R34 had made one armed patrol over the Baltic coast of Germany to encourage the German government to sign the peace treaty to end WW1 but was not engaged in action.
R33 was largely used for testing and training.
This model is of the R34 at the time of the transatlantic crossing.

Navis Neptun 1/1250 British Airship R101 L9

An excellent model of the R101, that crashed in France on 5th October 1930 during its very first voyage, killing 48 people. It was one of the worst airship disasters that, along with that of the Hindenberg, so coloured international public opinion of lighter-than-air craft that British employment of rigid airships was effectively ended. With thanks to Wikipedia!

Clear display box included.

A 1/1250 scale cast resin model of HM Airship, R80. R80 and her intended sister, R81, were the last two rigid airships designed for the RNAS in WW1. They were designed by Barnes Wallis to be built by Vickers in their old airship hangar in Barrow and were shorter than other RNAS rigid airships based on German designs. The R80 was more streamlined than German practice and proved to be the best airship of the era but fell victim to Government cuts in the defence budget. R81 was never ordered.

Navis Neptun 1/1250 Hindenburg LZ129 the ill fated German airship L1

Another excellent model from Navis Neptun! At 803.8 feet in length and 135.1 feet in diameter, the German passenger airship Hindenburg (LZ-129) was the largest aircraft ever to fly. The commercial flights of Hindenburg, along with Graf Zeppelin, pioneered the first transatlantic air service. She carried hundreds of passengers and travelled thousands of miles before being destroyed in a tragic fire on May 6, 1937 at NAS Lakehurst. These Navis airships are built in very small quantities and, although not cheap, will always be sought after collector's items!

Navis Neptun 1/1250 L53, a Zeppelin Airship Bomber (1917) L8V
