The Airbus A320 is the most technologically advanced short/medium haul aircraft in the world, with a range of 4,800 km. It has been in service with the airlines since April 1988 and can accommodate a maximum of 180 passengers. The Thomas Cook AG is the second largest tourism company in Europe and operates the youngest fleet of aircraft over one of the widest network of routes of any holiday carrier. From 2002 the aircraft will be presented in a new design. The new Swiss airline SWISS uses the A320 on its short-haul routes with a total of 11 planes.
