The MiG 1.44 is an unarmed technology platform for the new Russian 5th generation MiG 1.42 - a long-range multi-role supersonic heavy tactical fighter. Already completed in 1994 in strictest secrecy, it was kept under wraps for years and not shown to the public until 1999. It is equipped with a modern radar system (wide detection range), powerful engines with excellent manoeuverability, modern avionics with fly-by- wire control systems.
