With the AH-64 the US Army has one of the most effective weaponry systems within NATO: The heavily armoured combat helicopter was developed specifically for front-line duty against tanks and to provide air-to-ground support. The all-weather AH-64 can be used day and night. Up to 8 Hellfire guided missiles can be carried at outboard stations. The Hughes 30 mm machine gun has a firing rate of 650 shots/min. Two GE shaft turbines generate 125 kW (1696 SHP). Maximum speed 365 km/h.
